Laptops are King?
The number of laptops sold will outpace desktop sales by 2009, Intel CEO Paul Otellini said at the Intel Developer Forum on Tuesday. The amount of money spent on laptops already tops notebooks: Mr. Otellini was talking about units sold. These notebooks will be packed with new features, including superfast WiMax wireless Internet connection and high-definition video. Intel is developing processor chips, the brains of a computer that use less power to run these programs. Power consumption is a big issue with laptops. A new chip, out next year, will help batteries last longer.
